SCOTTSBLUFF—Theatre West Summer Repertory announces the lineup of 3 mainstage shows for 2024. Kicking off the 2024 season will be The Little Shop of Horrors. This delectable sci-fi horror musical is an electrifying 1960s pop/rock score by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman. This is an iconic comedy musical about Seymour–a shy floral shop employee–and Audrey II–a mysterious plant that transforms his life for the better! That is… until it becomes carnivorous. The musical covers topics such as love, dreams, and tragedy.
The international hit that seems part Monty Python and part Sherlock Holmes , The Play That Goes Wrong, will follow. This 2012 play won Best New Comedy at the 2015 Laurence Olivier Awards. Welcome to opening night of The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. In full hilarious perfection, this classic murder mystery is chock-full of mishaps and madcap mania!
The final mainstage show of the season will be a musical for the entire family, Hunchback of Notre Dame. From the Oscar®-winning team of Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz comes a lushly-scored retelling of Victor Hugo’s epic story. New songs for this musical have been composed to supplement the Disney animated score. Hunchback of Notre Dame is a glorious retelling of Victor Hugo’s epic story of love, acceptance, and what it means to be a hero.
