About Us

Theatre West Summer Repertory was formed in 1990 as a Not-For-Profit organization consisting of summer theatre productions and Theatre Opportunity For Youth. It operates as a seasonal summer theatre company.

Theatre West is generously supported by and housed at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. It is directed by an Executive Team and Community Advisory Board. Our program is also supported by the Nebraska Arts Council, Fliesbach Family Foundation, Quivey-Bay State Foundation, Oregon Trail Community Foundation, Charles Yount Foundation, Lockwood Foundation, Regional West Medical Center, Travis and Sue Hiner Foundation, various regional foundations, and supporting business and individual patrons.

Theatre West utilizes professional actors and directors, early professional actors, and skilled collegiate personnel for its needs each summer. Area collegiate auditions and interviews are held to fill seasonal needs with 20- 25 positions. On-line applications are accepted for Company Members. Company housing is furnished by WNCC. Because of the unique artistic mixture, community actors learn alongside professional actors and practice their talents under the guidance of professional directors. Theatre West is a teaching organization providing hands-on experience for young theatre students.
