THEATRE WEST SEEKS A SCENE SHOP SUPERVISOR FOR THE 2024 SUMMER SEASON
The Scene Shop Supervisor interprets design drawings and creates the shop schedule; oversees carpenters, shop equipment, and systems related to scenic, props, and rigging. The Shop Supervisor is responsible to the Artistic Director for the organizing and costing of the technical needs of the show – materials for the set and props. The Supervisor manages and directs the crew, coordinates the technicians, and the set builders to keep everyone working together to meet deadlines. The Shop Supervisor works with the designers, stage directors, and technicians to make technical rehearsals work smoothly up to the final dress rehearsals, and opening night. They contribute to facility maintenance, and ensure public safety.
Requirements for consideration: Associate’s degree in Theatre from an accredited college or university with coursework in technical operations/theatre equipment; Five (5) years’ of progressively responsible technical production experience; Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
