Theatre West will open its 35th season this June 2025.
Theatre West will open with, The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!), a musical about musicals! In this hilarious satire of musical theatre, one story becomes five delightful musicals, each written in the distinctive style of a different master of the form, from Rodgers & Hammerstein to Stephen Sondheim.
Ken Ludwig’s Baskerville—A Sherlock Holmes Mystery. A mastermind of mayhem, Ken Ludwig has written this fast-paced comedy about everyone’s favorite detective. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson must crack the mystery of “The Hound of the Baskervilles” before a family curse dooms its newest heir.
Bright Star written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. This folk and bluegrass musical, tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption set against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. With beautiful melodies and powerfully moving characters, the story unfolds as a rich tapestry of deep emotion. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tightly in its grasp, BRIGHT STAR is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful.
Theatre West is located in the Platte Valley Performing Arts Center on the campus of WNCC in Scottsbluff in June and July. Theatre West Summer Repertory provides professional theatre productions to the residents of Western Nebraska and the surrounding region while giving performance opportunities to local artists and employment for professional, regional, and collegiate artists, technicians, and theatre management personnel.
